Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Global Strategic Sourcing Manager to develop and execute global sourcing strategies that strengthen supplier capability, reduce risk, and support business objectives.

The role partners cross-functionally to resolve supply challenges, improve sourcing outcomes, and provide timely technical and financial insight. You will lead supplier relationships, contracts, pricing agreements, and category management, delivering cost reductions through market analysis,

Qualifications

10+ years in global strategic sourcing management.
Strong global procurement experience across supplier selection, risk/compliance, negotiation, roadmap alignment, and financial analysis.
Experience driving sourcing solutions and cost reductions.
Excellent relationship management across suppliers, internal customers, engineering, marketing, and senior management.
Strong negotiation skills with international sourcing experience.
Ability to drive change and build stakeholder relationships across multi-functional teams.
Self-starter who can build credibility in groups not used to procurement.
Experience in fast-paced business environments.
Proficiency with ERP systems, MS Office, Advanced Excel, and MS Project; Dynamics a plus.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~20%).
Preferred certifications: ISM C.P.M., CPSM, APICS CSCP/CPIM or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute global sourcing strategies including supplier selection, qualification, rationalization, benchmarking, and risk mitigation.
Lead supplier relationships, contracts, pricing agreements, performance assessments, and category management.
Deliver cost reductions through market analysis, cost modeling, and make-versus-buy analysis.
Build supplier and market intelligence to support sourcing strategy and business planning.
Drive lean transformation and continuous improvement across procurement processes.
Execute cost reduction projects, negotiations, and sustainable cost controls.
Analyze suppliers to optimize supply chain performance and mitigate risks.
Share sourcing best practices and support team development.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with laws and regulations.
Collaborate with engineering to understand product requirements and sourcing options.
Evaluate supplier capabilities for current and future roadmaps.
Manage sourcing through new product development and launch readiness.
