Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Senior Global Category Manager to lead sourcing, pricing, geo-diversity, and supplier relationships for AWS hardware and AI/ML platforms.

You will drive capacity planning, contract negotiations, and multi-sourcing strategies across development to mass production, partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure resilient, scalable supply chains for customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of responding to requests for proposals (e.g., determining requirements, matching requirements to technical approach and solutions, developing solutions against requirements).
• 6+ years of Global Category Manager experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in business economics, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, information technology or equivalent.
• MBA in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Mechanical sourcing strategies for AWS hardware infrastructure.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for AWS hardware infrastructure.
• Understand industry and technology trends.
• Identify key technology trends in the industry and drive supplier product roadmaps and execute on strategic initiatives in those products.
• Negotiate and implement complex supplier agreements and contracts by working with cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Develop negotiations strategies to deliver against business objectives and achieve sustainable relationship with suppliers.
• Responsible to provide weekly core‑team updates, deliver executive level updates on a monthly basis, and will be responsible for vendor escalations in order to resolve any issues related to his/her category.
• Present to senior leadership via written narratives.
