Job summary

Mettler-Toledo AutoChem Inc. is seeking a leader to drive software quality and testing across our instruments and software products.

You will lead a U.S.-based testing team, coordinate with offshore resources, and shape QA strategies within our PLM framework to ensure robust release readiness. This role collaborates with software development, product owners, and global R&D to balance automated and manual testing, including hardware-integrated scenarios.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS, Software Engineering, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
7+ years of progressive experience in software quality assurance, testing, or related software engineering disciplines, including at least 3 years of people-management experience leading a quality or testing function within a structured product-development organization.
Strong knowledge of quality assurance and test-management practices, including test strategy, risk-based testing, defect management, metrics, traceability, and release readiness.
Experience with manual, exploratory, system, integration, and regression testing of complex software products.
Experience testing software integrated with physical hardware, instrumentation, or embedded systems.
Strong working knowledge of Agile software development practices.
Experience leading distributed or international teams in a global, cross-functional environment.
Working knowledge of test automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery/deployment (CI/CD) practices.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop the U.S.-based Software Testing team, including performance management and hiring.
Provide functional leadership for offshore testing resources and coordinate priorities.
Establish and improve software quality assurance practices aligned with PLM framework.
Lead risk-based manual, exploratory, functional, regression, system, and integration testing.
Oversee the Software Testing Lab, including instruments, configurations, and environments.
Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate quality throughout the Agile lifecycle.
Maintain alignment with global R&D on testing priorities and release objectives.
Partner with automation leadership to balance automated, manual, and hardware-integrated testing.
Establish quality metrics and defect-management practices to reduce risk and improve quality.
Assess release readiness and communicate risks and status to stakeholders.
