AstraZeneca plc is seeking a Senior Director, Business Planning & Operations (SMM) in Boston, with flexibility for Gaithersburg or Durham. You will translate strategy into plans and drive delivery across a global network, shaping SMM’s operating cadence and performance.

As a senior adviser, you’ll lead the annual business plan, scorecards and capacity planning, partnering with Finance, R&D Finance and cross-functional teams to align priorities and resources for country- and site-level study

Qualifications

• Clinical operations expertise: substantial pharma/CRO experience.
• Chief of staff & business planning experience supporting a senior executive.
• Strategic planning: lead annual business planning and scorecards.
• Financial and capacity modelling: budgeting, FTE, capacity decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the annual and medium-term SMM plans and scorecards.
• Translate strategy into actionable objectives and capacity plans.
• Coordinate budget and capacity proposals with Finance & R&D Finance.
• Lead or contribute to cross-functional strategic projects across BPCO and R&D.
• Drive transformation initiatives and change management within SMM.
