Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials NA is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to accurately enter materials and goods into inventory and coordinate shipments and returns. The role emphasizes organized documentation, communication with suppliers, and safety on the warehouse floor.

The position operates Monday–Friday 10:00am–7:00pm with optional weekend overtime, and involves handling heavy machinery while maintaining compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate with plant manager, sales staff, and plant personnel.
• Warehouse experience with forklift, packing and measuring.
• Safety Mindset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of items shipped and received.
• Oversees safe and reliable packaging of all outgoing shipments.
• Process items for shipment according to established guidelines and procedures.
• Review shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet schedules.
• Reviews all international shipment documentation to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Maintain timely, effective, and professional communications with internal and external customers and suppliers.
• Responsible for effective record keeping, filing and other administrative duties.
• Work directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.
