Job summary

InTest Corporation in Mount Laurel, NJ is seeking a Senior Buyer to drive strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier management across multiple business units. You will partner with Operations, Engineering, Planning, Sales, Quality, Finance, customers, and suppliers to optimize cost, quality, delivery, inventory and performance.

The role is on-site with up to 25% travel worldwide. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in manufacturing procurement, strong negotiation skills, ERP/MRP

Qualifications

• 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, strategic sourcing, or buyer experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with inventory management, supply-chain operations, supplier relationship management, and supplier development.
• Proven ability to negotiate pricing, commercial terms, contracts, and delivery requirements.
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead global sourcing and procurement activities for commodities, materials, equipment, and services, balancing cost, quality, delivery, capacity, and supply risk.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and manage suppliers; conduct RFQs, analyze proposals, negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and delivery commitments.
• Develop sourcing strategies and supplier partnerships to support goals, cost improvement, cash flow, and operational efficiency.
• Manage the purchase order lifecycle in the ERP/MRP system with accurate purchasing information.
• Align material availability and inventory with forecasts and production schedules; address shortages and delivery risks.
• Monitor supplier performance using metrics; conduct audits and lead corrective actions including MRBs and SCARs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and support new product introductions.
• Analyze specifications, drawings, and industry trends to support sourcing decisions.
• Identify and implement process improvements, digital solutions, and sustainability initiatives.
