Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Analyst

Vast is looking for a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Analyst, reporting to the GSOC Manager. The GSOC Analyst plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure, and professional environment at an aerospace facility. The GSOC Analyst is responsible for monitoring databases for security threats and operational risks that could potentially impact Vast facilities, employees, and technology. The GSOC Analyst will prepare threat analyses, intelligence briefs, and travel assessments in support of company and executive travel. This position ensures the safety of employees, visitors, assets, and critical infrastructure while supporting Vast’s mission.

We are currently hiring for the below schedule:

  • Weekday Monday-Friday with the flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed by the company.
  • This is an exempt position based out of our Long Beach, CA facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Use technology systems and applications, including commercially-available databases and social media platforms, to monitor security threats and operational risks to business continuity.
  • Analyze multiple sources for timely, accurate, and relevant information with potential impacts to Vast facilities, employees, and assets.
  • Prepare detailed threat assessments and travel advisories in support of company and executive travel.
  • Escalate developing risks with impact to Vast operations to GSOC leadership.
  • Use mass notification systems to draft and disseminate actionable information to company employees during emergency or crisis situations.
  • Provide security assistance and risk analysis for special events, operational activities, and logistical movements of Vast’s hardware and space technology worldwide.
  • Maintain a high level of situational awareness by tracking geopolitical developments, emerging threats, and technological trends that could impact Vast’s security landscape.
  • Ensure all Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) protocols and procedures are followed according to company policies.
  • Assess threats in real-time and ensure effective coordination, communication, and decision-making during heightened security situations.
  • Assist with the research and creation of detailed security incident reports and BOLOs when necessary.
  • Assist company personnel with safety and security concerns impacting Vast facilities, properties, and equipment.
  • Respond professionally to security-related inquiries, safety concerns, and emergency situations in accordance with company policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall security mission.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Intelligence, Security Studies, Political Science, International Affairs, Emergency Management or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to draft and present/brief intelligence briefs, travel assessments, and threat analyses.
  • Comprehensive understanding of GSOC policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Strong research skills with experience utilizing various databases and social media platforms.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a GSOC or a similar security environment.
  • Knowledge of threat management and intelligence software such as Dataminr, Ontic, Dragonfly Intelligence, or SamDesk.
  • Security experience in an industrial, aerospace, or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently.

Salary Range: California

$70,000 - $95,000 USD
