Job summary

Verkada is seeking a seasoned leader for its global security team, reporting to the General Counsel. You will oversee physical security, insider threats, threat intelligence, and executive protection, leading a four-person security team.

You will have access to Verkada’s market-leading technology to enhance the global security program. The role is onsite in San Mateo, CA, with responsibilities spanning international sites, governance, and collaboration with Legal, Real Estate, and HR to ensure

Qualifications

• 10+ years of operational experience in global security planning and execution in corporate environments with international exposure.
• 3+ years of experience managing a security team.
• Deep experience in physical security, risk assessment, and global threat assessments.
• Experience preventing theft and unauthorized access to intellectual property.
• Familiarity with forensic investigations and mitigation measures.
• Experience building a security program from the ground up.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with Legal, Real Estate, C‑Suite, HR, Finance, and InfoSec.

Responsibilities

• Lead a global physical security program addressing threats to personnel and facilities.
• Oversee physical security systems and partner with Facilities to install and maintain systems globally.
• Manage investigations and prevention of theft and information disclosure.
• Drive supply chain security across Verkada’s product portfolio.
• Document SOPs, programs, and policies; train staff for compliance.
• Lead a team of security professionals and drive security initiatives.
• Provide strategic direction on evolving global security and safety issues.
• Collaborate with Legal and People teams on internal investigations.
• Manage vendors for threat assessments and guard deployment.
• Work with product/engineering to provide tool feedback.
