Job summary

Cascade Asset Management Company in the Seattle area seeks a senior attorney to support the Securities, Trading and Regulatory group. You will advise on legal, regulatory, and compliance issues across a complex global portfolio and help modernize workflows with AI-enabled tools.

You will partner with investment teams, negotiate documentation, monitor filings, and address governance and trading-related matters. This role requires a J.D. and 6+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience
• Strong legal training and judgment, including significant law firm experience
• In-house experience with an investment organization or public company is a strong plus
• Substantive knowledge of securities laws and regulations (e.g., 1933 Act, 1934 Act, Advisers Act)
• Knowledge of complex regulatory issues (HSR, FCPA, industry regs)
• Experience advising on trading, market structure, custody, derivatives, or trading-related issues is a plus
• Curiosity about AI and applying it responsibly in a legal environment
• Ability to balance legal principles with commercial business needs
• Excellent written and oral communication, stakeholder management

Responsibilities

• Advise investment teams on legal, regulatory, and compliance issues across a global asset portfolio
• Monitor and interpret complex regulatory developments across multiple asset classes and jurisdictions
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and documentation
• Manage broker and counterparty relationships and trading-related infrastructure support
• Address MNPI concerns and oversee trading policies and disclosure matters
• Develop and maintain tools, processes, and references for trading and portfolio monitoring
• Identify regulatory changes and craft risk mitigation strategies
• Collaborate with internal teams and outside counsel to solve governance and compliance challenges
• Lead cross-functional projects and promote efficient legal workflows
