Job summary

Solomon Page is seeking a Director, SAP Planning, Procurement & Advanced Planning Systems to lead global strategy for planning, procurement, and inventory optimization. You will own SAP ECC MM/PP, oversee master data governance, and drive an APS program (Kinaxis Maestro, o9, Anaplan) to reduce inventory while maintaining service levels.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience across SAP and enterprise planning
• Career foundation in SAP ABAP, transitioning to SAP MM/PP functional leadership
• Demonstrated success leading global teams and complex vendor ecosystems
• Direct leadership in at least one APS or advanced planning transformation
• Deep experience operating SAP ECC in multi-region supply chain environments
• Comfortable working at the level required by the situation, regardless of title
• Uses hands-on engagement selectively and purposefully, not as a substitute for delegation
• Builds credibility through technical understanding, sound judgment, and follow-through
• Trusted by business SMEs due to a genuine understanding of how the system actually behaves

Responsibilities

• Own global planning, procurement, and inventory optimization technology strategy
• Define governance standards across planning processes, system behavior, and master data
• Partner with Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Finance leadership to align system capabilities with business outcomes
• Provide executive oversight while validating high-risk or high-impact decisions
• Hold executive functional ownership of SAP ECC MM and PP
• Ensure correctness, stability, and scalability of MRP behavior, procurement execution, and production/inventory planning
• Review SAP configuration; analyze MRP results, planning exceptions, and constraints
• Engage in root-cause analysis of complex planning failures
• Serve as senior escalation point for planning-related operational risk
• Lead APS evaluation and deployment planning (Kinaxis Maestro, o9, Anaplan)
• Translate planning outputs into actionable decisions
• Balance strategic oversight with detailed engagement during design/adoption phases
• Lead a globally distributed delivery organization (Europe, NA, AU)
• Establish operating models, decision rights, and KPIs
• Delegate effectively while maintaining visibility into quality and risk
• Step in to unblock delivery when needed
• Leverage ABAP foundation to challenge solution designs
• Review system behavior, debug findings, and design trade-offs
• Act as technical authority with business SMEs
