Job summary

Lakeland Industries Decatur, Alabama seeks a Product Development Specialist – Safety Division to drive the development, launch, and ongoing improvement of Lakeland's global SAFETY product portfolio.

This role serves as the technical expert for assigned product lines and collaborates with Product Management, R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, Quality, and Regulatory teams to successfully develop and maintain products throughout their lifecycle.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Product Development, Manufacturing, Textile Engineering, or related field required.
3–5 years of experience in product development, engineering, or related roles.
Experience supporting products through the product lifecycle preferred.
PPE, industrial safety, technical textile, or fire services industry experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Regulatory compliance: review certifications, labeling and documentation to ensure standards compliance.
Product development & project coordination: manage lifecycle, timelines, cross-functional launches.
Technical product ownership: maintain BOMs, SKUs, and manufacturing specs.
Marketing & technical support: develop literature, training materials and sales support.
Inventory & lifecycle: analyze inventory and plan transitions for discontinued products.
Collaboration & continuous improvement: work with manufacturing and supply chain to improve quality and cost efficiency.
