Job summary

Accion in the United States seeks an Associate General Counsel for Global Risk and Corporate Compliance. You will advise on risk, compliance, governance, employment, privacy, and technology across Accion's global operations, reporting to the Deputy General Counsel. This role is hybrid (Washington, D.C.

or remote within ETZ) and collaborates with international teams. The ideal candidate has a JD, active U.S.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• 5+ years of relevant legal experience with large U.S. nonprofit, financial services company and/or law firm.
• Experience in regulatory compliance, employment law, risk management and privacy.
• Experience across multiple jurisdictions (U.S., international) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support risk, compliance, and governance across Accion's nonprofit and for-profit entities.
• Develop and monitor risk and compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
• Advise on privacy, data protection, and technology matters.
• Oversee employment matters, immigration strategy, and global HR policies.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of legal agreements.
• Support governance with the Board and corporate records.
