Job summary

Selby Jennings partners with a premier $1bn+ AUM global long/short hedge fund to hire a dedicated REITs Analyst for its New York investment team.

The role focuses on deep fundamental research across REITs and real estate adjacencies, building rigorous financial models, and generating long/short ideas with a long-term holding horizon. It is a research-only position, with a direct contribution to portfolio construction.

Qualifications

• Experience covering REITs or listed real estate is essential.
• Strong fundamentals and long-term investment approach required.
• Buyside exposure and NYC-based applicability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct deep fundamental research on REITs and related real estate adjacencies.
• Build and maintain financial models, valuation frameworks, and investment theses.
• Generate differentiated long and short ideas aligned with long-term holding periods.
• Monitor positions and sector developments globally; report to PM.
• Collaborate with PM on idea development and portfolio risk assessment.
