Job summary

Visa seeks an Associate Counsel to join its Global Regulatory Affairs team. Based in Atlanta, Austin, New York or San Francisco, you will coordinate regulatory matters across 200 countries, draft submissions and advise internal Visa teams.

You will work with lawyers worldwide, develop thought leadership, and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment while embracing new technologies and AI tools.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree and J.D. from an accredited law school
  • A member of the bar of any U.S. state and in good standing
  • Admitted to practice law in the United States and in good standing
  • 4 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree and J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Strong preference for prior experience and familiarity with payments, financial services, technology, and/or public policy
  • Must be able to develop strong and collaborative working relationships with colleagues across functions
  • Must have excellent judgment and intellectual curiosity
  • Must be a self-motivated individual and able to work independently and collaboratively as needed
  • International experience, and fluency or professional proficiency in foreign languages would be a plus

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Visa’s global and regional legal, business, and government affairs teams to understand and achieve key regulatory objectives, and manage complex and time-sensitive regulatory matters.
  • Support global and regional legal, business, and government affairs teams in developing and executing global regulatory positions and strategy, draft regulatory submissions, and support direct engagements with governments, regulators, and policymakers around the world.
  • Develop global best practices in key areas on an ongoing basis, and ensure global regulatory strategies are applied consistently and effectively across the organization, functions and regions.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail in all aspects of analysis, drafting, research and communication.
  • Manage multiple priorities, consistently deliver exceptionally high-quality work product, and meet tight deadlines.

Education

Bachelor’s degree and J.D. from an accredited law school
