Job summary

Visa seeks a lawyer to join its Global Regulatory Affairs team. The Counsel will coordinate and manage complex regulatory matters across 200 countries and territories, drafting regulatory submissions and advising internal Visa teams.

The role is based in Atlanta, Austin, or San Francisco and requires collaboration with global colleagues. The ideal candidate holds a J.D., is admitted to practice in the United States, has at least 6 years of experience, and demonstrates excellent writing,

Qualifications

  • 6 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree and J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • A member of the bar of any U.S. state and in good standing.
  • Admitted to practice law in the United States and in good standing.
  • 8 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree and J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with an ability to clearly communicate with business leaders.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Strong preference for prior experience in payments, financial services, technology, and/or public policy.
  • Strong preference for prior experience in law firms with international practice groups; large international organizations; in house roles focused on payments, financial services and/or technology; and/or government.
  • Must be able to develop strong and collaborative working relationships with colleagues across functions.
  • Must have excellent judgment and intellectual curiosity
  • Must be a self-motivated individual and able to work independently and collaboratively as needed
  • International experience, and fluency or professional proficiency in foreign languages would be a plus

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage complex regulatory matters across 200 countries and territories.
  • Draft regulatory submissions and responses to government requests and public consultations.
  • Develop global best practices in key areas and ensure strategies are applied consistently.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail in analysis, drafting, research and communication.
  • Manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
