Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline in the United States seeks a Director, Global Real-World Evidence & Health Outcomes Scientist, Oncology to lead the design and execution of RWE studies that support asset teams and evidence-based market positioning.

You will work across medical, market access, R&D and commercial groups, building partnerships with external thought leaders while managing budgets and timelines. A MSc with 3+ years in pharma, plus oncology experience, is preferred.

Qualifications

• MSc or equivalent in health outcomes, health economics, epidemiology, pharmacy, health or life sciences.
• 3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in a multinational company.
• Experience in Oncology or Hematology.
• Experience in planning and delivering individual projects, managing budgets and working within a matrix setting.
• Experience in designing Real World Evidence (RWE) studies including prospective observational, cross-sectional and retrospective cohort studies, chart reviews, and database analyses.
• Experience using evidence for HTA submissions, reimbursement and/or medical engagements.
• Experience delivering payer evidence and engaging with external experts and leaders in the field.
• Experience with diverse healthcare markets, HTA agencies, and reimbursement decision-making globally, regionally and locally.
• Experience communicating technical concepts and results to diverse audiences to impact decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and execute multiple studies for a given asset and manage timelines, deliverables and budget.
• Assure quality of deliverables, including review and sign off on protocols, data analyses, final reports, abstracts and posters in adherence to SOPs.
• Identify resources and analyses to inform scientific design and advise internal experts and external experts as needed.
• Translate needs for evidence into study concepts aligned with asset strategy and vision.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of real-world data resources and partnerships and advise on their suitability for research questions.
• Develop an understanding of customer needs and HTA requirements and how evidence impacts decision-making.
• Collaborate with internal teams and share best practices across non-interventional study organization.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholder groups across medical, market access, R&D and commercial for alignment and collaboration.
• Ensure key stakeholders are updated on plans through periodic reporting.
• Develop relationships with external thought leaders to ensure appropriate methods and research agendas in line with GSK policies.
