Job summary

Base is building a next-generation power company focused on distributed batteries. We’re seeking a Global Supply Manager to own raw and bulk materials from the ground up, shaping how we source adhesives, TIM, potting compounds, chemicals, and paint for our Base Core BOM and beyond.

You will define sourcing for lithium, graphite, steel, aluminum, and copper, collaborating with metals, cells leads, and Manufacturing Engineering as needs evolve.

Qualifications

• Experience owning a raw materials category at an OEM or industrial manufacturer.
• Ability to build a sourcing strategy from scratch with no incumbent playbook.
• Fluency in commodity market dynamics (pricing, hedging, geographic concentration).
• Strong organizational skills to align strategy across categories.

Responsibilities

• Own commercial sourcing for adhesives, TIM, potting compounds, chemicals, and paint across the Base Core BOM.
• Build sourcing strategy for upstream battery raw materials (lithium, graphite, anode, cathode) to scale the supply chain.
• Develop sourcing strategy for electrical steel and structural materials (aluminum, cold-rolled steel, copper).
• Track market dynamics, pricing, supply risk for each material to inform make-vs-buy and hedging decisions.
• Partner with Metals and Cells category leads and Manufacturing Engineering to align raw materials strategy.
