Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a seasoned technical policy advisor for its International Policy Applied AI team in San Francisco. You will help governments and international bodies understand frontier AI, assess safety, and apply Claude to public missions with reliability and safety.

You will collaborate across Policy, Product, Research, and Engineering to design demos, onboarding programs, and evaluation suites, communicating complex topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, while

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Customer Engineer / Forward Deployed Engineer / Sales Engineer / Solutions Architect / Cybersecurity Engineer in government or public sector.
• Experience in technology policy, AI safety, cybersecurity, or international affairs.
• Designed novel and innovative solutions for technical platforms in a developing mission area.
• Familiarity with how AI models are evaluated and tested for safety.
• Strong technical aptitude and at least one programming language (Python preferred).
• Understanding of and experience with LLM fundamentals.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt across domains.
• Excellent cross-organizational collaboration and stakeholder management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Passion for safe, beneficial AI.

Responsibilities

• Act as a primary technical advisor for senior officials in partner governments, AISIs, and international institutions.
• Develop demos, pilots, prototypes, and evaluation suites to show Claude support for public missions.
• Lead onboarding, enablement, and hands-on workshops for partner institutions.
• Coordinate with Product and Research teams to deliver desired capabilities for partners.
• Travel internationally for senior leader meetings and technical enablement.
• Establish a shared vision for safe AI solutions.
• Lead strategy and execution of innovative AI solutions.
