Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support services projects across the U.S., including international work. The role focuses on developing and maintaining schedule and cost baselines, analyzing variances, and integrating risk reserves into forecasts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5 years of related experience
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required
• Experience managing service projects is highly desirable
• Extensive Earned Value Management (EVM) experience, managing budgets and schedules for large projects
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 with experience developing and managing complex project schedules for large-scale initiatives

Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with internal procedures; gathers project progress information to monitor projects of moderate to high complexity.
• Develops time-phased project cost and resource forecasts; validates project costs; updates requirements as required.
• Monitors progress of project deliverables and actual expenditures versus forecasts; performs Earned Value Management reporting.
• Performs financial analyses including variance, risk and profit/loss analyses; supports non-routine analyses and reports.
• Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff; mentors and develops them for future growth.
