Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate Degree i.e. MPH (or equivalent working experience) with 10 years relevant working experience
• Certified in Project Management
• Proven experience in establishing systems to develop high quality workplans, quarterly and annual reports, budgets
• Proven experience successfully starting up and closing out projects
• Proven experience setting up and tracking knowledge management systems for large complex projects
• Excellent understanding of financial management principles and budgeting
• Experience working collaboratively with senior finance staff to establish systems/procedures to develop and track development and review of budgets and expenditure reports
• Strong understanding of multiple technical areas Jhpiego works in

Responsibilities

• Leads, Proposals & additional donor buy-ins for the project portfolio
• Establishes systems, templates and SOPs to support program managers and country teams to respond to donor requests
• Serve as program lead and writer of sections for global proposals
• Reviews and provides feedback on country level narrative and budget submissions to donor
• Ensures a knowledge management system to track all requests and submissions
• Network and liaise to promote the project at multiple fora
• Establishes/refines start-up guidance for multi-country projects
• Lead start-up activities in new countries
• Establishes metrics and knowledge management for start-up activities
• Conducts after-action reviews to refine processes
• Establish appropriate program management systems and tools to ensure compliance with PM@Jhpiego
• Lead workplanning and reporting across all project areas
• Lead and manage strategic initiatives undertaken by the project
• Build internal cross-departmental support to implement the developed project management systems
• Ensure compliance to donor and Jhpiego policies and procedures
• Develop and track metrics to gauge performance across the global project
• Provide guidance and advisory services to management and leadership
• Develop and deliver presentations and written communications for stakeholders
• Act as main point of contact for escalated issues
• Implement and oversee knowledge management system for the project
• Mentor and supervise program staff
• Act as Project Director in absence of the Project Director
• Establish partnerships with consortia members
• Provide high level customer service to country/project teams
