Job summary

AVANGRID is seeking a Procurement and Commercial Lead to drive purchases for materials and services, administer competitive bidding up to hundreds of millions, evaluate proposals, select suppliers, and manage partnerships. You will lead cost-reduction initiatives, generate reports and presentations, and perform other duties as assigned.

The role requires coordinating with global teams, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining a high level of customer service while aligning with company policies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Economics or relevant field required.
• Minimum of 5 years in supply management or procurement with RFPs, pricing, contracts, and supplier management.
• Experience evaluating procurement economics for equipment and construction services.
• Commercial knowledge of supply chain methods, models, and KPI-driven practices.
• Experience negotiating with global OEMs in international contexts.
• Experience in commercial, transmission, power generation, or renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead RFPs, RFQs, information requests, bid analysis, and risk assessments for EPC and construction services.
• Evaluate and select suppliers per policy, cost savings goals, and budgets.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and global procurement initiatives.
• Negotiate contracts to minimize operational, legal, and financial risks.
• Develop procurement sourcing strategies for environmental, engineering, and permitting services.
• Collaborate with internal and external legal counsel.
• Produce reports and presentations to support decisions.
