Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or related field is required or highly regarded.
  • MBA or postgraduate business degree is highly regarded.
  • Minimum 12 years in strategic sourcing or related experience.
  • Minimum 2 years senior leadership experience, preferably global.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills; able to handle ambiguity.
  • Experience with A&E/EPC/EPCM, CQV/CSV categories is valued.

Job description

This role leads multiple global Category Management teams and is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of category management strategies across the entire CSL group to ensure best possible value for CSL while managing risk and maintaining compliance in procurement practices.This will be directly involved in major local to global sourcing or bid activities, driving key transformational projects, and building and maintaining relationships with key senior stakeholders internal to CSL Group and within large, global vendors.Responsibilities:Develop Plans aligned to CSL Global and Procurement StrategyDevelop and implement global category strategies for both the categories in scope in alignment with corporate strategy and other relevant business strategies within CSL to ensure clear objectives and action plans for Global Category Management Lead roles resulting in the reduction of the total cost of ownership and risk, while increasing innovation, customer service, compliance, and quality.Take a leadership position and drive collaborate with the respective business unit on complex problem resolution, investigative data analytics, process reengineering and establishment of a sustainable program that will fill a global need while being consistent within all Company areas affected.Lead and manage key projects that involve redesign of global strategy, business models and overall ways of working. Drive year over year financial improvements while ensuring operational excellence.Establish and Maintain Effective Category Management and Bid ManagementDrive value from the global category(s) by defining and implementing effective category management strategies; establishing and managing Councils for business-critical commodities aligned with the evolving business requirements and are effectively leading key sourcing activities, including negotiations, that to deliver lower cost of ownership, lower risk, higher quality, and better supply performance.Lead complex and business negotiations with major key suppliers and provide advice for regional sourcing as required.Conduct business with integrity, in accordance with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and anti-bribery requirements and supports diversity and inclusion by promoting utilization of small, disadvantaged and/or diverse suppliers.Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)Establish and manage SRM processes with suppliers within the category as per supplier segmentation, including risk management strategies in accordance with global policies, to enhance relationships and innovations with suppliers to deliver required supply, quality, service, continuous improvement, and innovation while minimizing costs for CSL and develop processes to measure value beyond savings in line with CSL’s values and Procurement strategy.Implement Global procedures to ensure execution of sourcing activities in compliance with CSL Sourcing Policy, Code of Responsible Business Practices, and all other compliance standards.Strictly adhere to the CSL Supplier Risk Management policies and procedures. Utilize the CSL Supplier Risk Management tools as appropriate.Supply Performance Management, including management of Key Performance IndicatorsResponsible for monitoring Supply Performance KPIs and conducting regular Operational Reviews as per Procurement’s Governance processes with supporting analysis and reporting from the Centre of Excellence and ensuring any Category Management roles within the team also review and manage Supplier performance to meet agreed standards.Develop TalentLead, motivate and develop employees within the Procurement organization including effective long-term talent development, succession planning and performance managing with a focus on supporting employees to meet or exceed performance expectations while demonstrating CSL Values.Manage Key Internal and External Stakeholders and Partners RelationshipsBuild and maintain effective professional relationships with senior, internal stakeholders and senior external executives within large vendors to deliver upon Procurement’s objectives by ongoing discussions and participation in formal teams and groups with senior leaders in CSL and external vendors to manage supplier performance, issues, procurement improvement initiatives and other broader business issues.Drive InnovationLead and participate in global transformation projects and continuous improvement initiatives as required to ensure the delivery of targeted benefits.JOB SPECIFICATIONS:EducationMaster’s degree in Engineering preferredPost graduate business degree, MBA highly regardedExperienceMinimum 12 years’ experience in strategic sourcing, other relevant experience in sourcing, or equivalent experience in engineering and construction management.Minimum 2 years senior leadership experience, preferably of a global team.Minimum 5 years in global team management.Strong communication and influencing skills and ability to deal with ambiguity and building bridgesStrong understanding of the A&E/EPC/EPCM, CQV/CSV categories and businessUnderstanding of the pharmaceutical industry or related industry preferred but not essentialCompetenciesMaintains an external and strategic focus for self and teamEnsures teams are set up for collaborationCreates an accountable working environmentInstills personal flexibility in self and teamEnsures clarity around the strategyCoaches effectivelyAdditionally, this role requires other knowledge, skills and competencies including:Basic strategic orientation, inquisitive, comfortable with ambiguity, and self-motivated to identify trends and improvement opportunities aligned with business objectives and strategic plans.Strong executive presence demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills with ability to build effective relationships and influence peers and key stakeholders.Demonstrated strength and ability to organize and lead global teams.Strong project management skills with ability to plan tasks, assign resources, manage progress, remove barriers, manage change, resolve conflict, build consensus, and motivate team members across multiple projects concurrently.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to the given audience, present information in a clear and concise manner, apply creative approaches to engage audiences, manage change, resolve conflict, and build consensus.Solid Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, and Supplier Relationship Management knowledgeThe position also requires the ability to build and maintain strong relationships and collaborate effectively with all levels and cross functionally within the organization.Travel RequirementsDomestic travel as required (10-30%)International travel as required (10-20%)Travel requirements will vary depending upon where the incumbent is based.
