Job summary

Astec is a global, environmentally focused infrastructure and manufacturing company in Yankton, SD, delivering equipment for asphalt, road building and aggregate processing. The Applications Engineer sizes, layouts, costs, and audits performance of processing systems for customers in the MS Group.

The role requires a mechanical/industrial engineering degree, 3D design software proficiency, and strong communication as you collaborate across engineering, sales, and service teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Mining, Geological or Industrial Engineering.
• AutoCAD/Inventor (or comparable software) knowledge and experience with 3D design software.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with management, sales, dealers, customers, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQ/RFP documents with respect to equipment sizing, performance guarantees, and terms.
• Manage MS Group product opportunities from inquiry to proposal to post sale follow-up.
• Develop process flow diagrams and equipment layouts for aggregate processing plants and prepare quotations.
• Advise customers on proper selection, application, and operation of MS Group products.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and service teams to prepare deliverables and support projects.
• Attend meetings, travel to sites, and assist with commissioning of systems.
