Job summary

3M is seeking a Process Safety Engineer/Specialist to provide global leadership in process safety. You will develop standards, lead hazard assessments, and guide cross-functional teams across manufacturing sites worldwide.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science, 5+ years of process safety experience, and willingness to travel up to 30% with on-site duties at Maplewood, Austin and other 3M locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering or science discipline (completed and verified prior to start).
• Five (5) years of process safety experience, global and/or site-level in a private, public, government or military environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and technical expertise for process safety to achieve sustained safety performance improvements globally.
• Develop and refine process safety standards including training, tools, communication and audit requirements.
• Lead teams and advise colleagues on process safety and hazard assessment reviews (LOPA, reactive chemical scenarios, and management of change).
• Review and support process safety assessment strategies (HAZOP, LOPA).
• Collaborate with manufacturing technology leadership and CAPEX teams to mitigate process safety risks.
