Job summary

Trinseo in the United States seeks a Process Safety Engineer for the Global EH&S organization. You will apply risk assessment methods including PHA and LOPA, lead or participate in incident investigations, and train facility personnel in process safety practices to reduce risk across sites.

You will maintain and update process safety programs and tools, assist in process equipment reviews, and support regional Supply Chain safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably chemical or mechanical).
• 5-7+ years experience in a production facility, process safety, or process engineering.
• Fluency in English language required.
• Working knowledge of process safety principles, regulatory requirements, and EH&S guidelines.
• Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical thinking skills.
• Experience auditing manufacturing facilities.
• Knowledge/Awareness of OSHA PSM / EPA RMP, PHA, LOPA, PHAST, SIS, QRA, Baker Risk Studies, RCI, HAZOP.

Responsibilities

• Direct risk assessment techniques including process hazard analyses and layers of protection analysis.
• Lead, facilitate, or participate in plant incident investigations to determine root causes of incidents, especially regulatory in nature.
• Provide training and coaching to facility personnel and process safety focal points on process safety programs and hazards.
• Maintain and update corporate process safety programs, procedures and tools to improve performance and reduce risk.
• Assist in process engineering of specifying or reviewing process equipment specifications and optimization of chemical processes.
• Complete Process Safety audits and assessments at facilities and assist in corrective action plans.
• Support regional Supply Chain and Logistics to ensure safe transit of hazardous goods and respond to transportation emergencies.
