Job summary

Trinseo in Dalton, GA, seeks a Process Safety Engineer to strengthen our Global EH&S team. You will apply risk assessment methods, lead investigations, and help advance process safety programs across facilities.

Ideal candidates have a chemical or mechanical engineering background, 5–7+ years in production or process safety, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to travel 6–8 trips per year to support sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical or mechanical preferred).
  • 5–7+ years in a production facility, process safety, or process engineering.
  • Fluency in English required.
  • Knowledge of process safety principles, regulatory requirements, and EH&S guidelines.
  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical thinking skills.
  • Experience auditing manufacturing facilities.
  • Familiarity with OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, PHA, LOPA, SIS, PHAST, and related tools.

Responsibilities

  • Direct risk assessment techniques including PHA and LOPA.
  • Lead or participate in plant incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Provide training to personnel on process safety programs and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and update process safety programs, procedures and tools.
  • Assist in process engineering and equipment specification reviews.
  • Conduct process safety audits and corrective action planning.
  • Support safe transit of hazardous materials and respond to emergencies.
