Job summary

Rondo Energy is seeking a Principal Process Safety Engineer to own the global PSM program and lead hazard evaluations across sites in the US, EU, and APAC. This role requires deep experience in HAZOP/PHAs, regulatory alignment, and cross-functional leadership.

The position is hybrid, based at Alameda HQ with international travel, offering a competitive salary and equity opportunities. You will build a world-class process safety program for a fast-scaling energy technology company.

Qualifications

• BS in chemical, mechanical, process engineering or related field.
• ~10–15+ years of process safety engineering experience with HAB/PHA studies.
• Experience with multi-site or international PSM programs and travel ~25–40%.
• Knowledge of hazard-evaluation and risk-ranking methods (HAZID, HAZOP, what-if, LOPA).
• Familiarity with IEC 61511 functional safety lifecycle concepts.

Responsibilities

• Own and scale the global risk-based PSM program across sites and jurisdictions.
• Facilitate high-risk studies (HAZOP/PHAs) and coach local facilitators.
• Maintain PHA action registers, governance, and closure tracking.
• Review changes in MOC and perform PSSR, PSI documentation stewardship.
• Develop global process safety competencies and training networks.
