Job summary

Trinseo is seeking a Global Process Safety Engineer to champion a strong safety culture across facilities worldwide. You will lead risk assessments, incident investigations, and update safety programs while coordinating with EH&S, manufacturing, and engineering teams.

The role includes global and regional support and periodic travel. The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years in process safety or engineering, a chemistry or mechanical focus, and fluency in English with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (chemical or mechanical preferred) and a strong background in process safety.
• 5–7+ years of experience in production facilities, process safety, or process engineering.
• Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of process safety principles, regulatory requirements, and EH&S guidelines.
• Experience auditing manufacturing facilities and knowledge of PSM, RMP, PHA, LOPA, SIS, PHAST, and QRA.

Responsibilities

• Direct risk assessment techniques including PHA and LOPA; review risk evaluation methods for new projects.
• Lead or participate in plant incident investigations to determine root causes, especially regulatory events.
• Provide training to facility personnel on process safety programs and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and update corporate process safety programs, procedures, and tools to improve safety performance.
• Assist in process engineering reviews of equipment specifications and implementation of new technologies.
• Conduct Process Safety audits and help facilities develop and execute corrective action plans.
• Support regional Supply Chain and Logistics to ensure safe transit of hazardous goods and respond to emergencies.
