Job summary

Google is seeking a Policy Development Lead for its Trust & Safety organization in Mountain View. The role involves creating global policies on age appropriateness and child safety, assessing risk for new products, and collaborating with cross-functional teams worldwide to shape content policy and enforcement.

You will work on YouTube-related policy areas and interact with executives to balance safety with product growth, while ensuring scalable policy implementation across Google products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience drafting or enforcing policy for an online platform or engagement with public policy issues in technology, government, law or online.
• 5 years of experience in a policy, legal, trust and safety, or technology environment.
• Experience working with global teams and communicating with stakeholders cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update our global policies focusing on age appropriateness and child safety.
• Evaluate risk profile of new products and features for policy impact.
• Understand and communicate risk landscape and regulatory requirements for minors as viewers and child safety.
• Influence cross-functional stakeholders and executives on proposed content policy efforts.
• Negotiate and find optimal policy solutions balancing safety, product reach, and growth.
• Propose strategies to improve Trust and Safety's product market fit and scalability.
• Work with global teams to ensure effective operationalization of global policies.
