Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Senior Director, Policy Communications to guide global communications on regulatory issues, policy positions, and crisis responses. You will work with the Global Communications and Corporate Affairs team to shape messaging for media, policymakers, and the Roblox community from our Washington DC or San Mateo offices.

The role requires strong relationships with tech and policy press, plus extensive experience in public affairs and crisis communication.

Qualifications

• Understanding of consumer technology/social media, online safety, policy enforcement.
• 12+ years in public affairs, policy communications and crisis comms.
• Experience with global regulations for diverse user groups.
• Track record aligning internal, external and partner comms.
• Crisis comms leadership with clear directives.
• Strong journalist/influencer relationships in tech policy.
• On-the-record spokesperson experience on complex topics.

Responsibilities

• Advise and collaborate with product, public policy, legal, international expansion, and Trust & Safety to communicate with media.
• Handle high-profile issues with calm judgment.
• Leverage media landscape to build strategic recommendations.
• Develop global positions and reactive/proactive comms plans.
• Suggest public messaging on regulatory issues and legislation impacting Roblox.
• Lead campaign strategies to educate policymakers and community.
• Create and execute crisis communications and risk mitigation plans.
• Distill complex policy concepts into clear materials for press.
• Brief spokespeople and staff for interviews; highlight Roblox efforts on trust and safety.
