Job summary

Roblox Corporation in the United States seeks a Senior Director of Policy Communications to lead global public affairs and crisis communications. You will guide corporate positioning, manage campaigns to inform media and policymakers, and coordinate with policy, legal, and product teams.

This role reports to the Chief Communications Officer and will be based in Washington, DC or San Mateo, with hybrid presence on Tue-Thu.

Qualifications

• A deep understanding of consumer technology, social media, online safety, content enforcement and privacy policies.
• 12+ years of experience in public affairs, policy communications and crisis communications.
• Experience with global regulations and policies for diverse age ranges of users and creators.
• Track record developing and implementing corporate communications plans aligning internal, external, and partner communications.
• Proven performance managing communications in crisis and sensitive situations, including creating clear directives and follow up.
• Strong relationships with key journalists and influencers in tech, policy, and business press.
• Experience as on-the-record spokesperson and communicator on complex topics, including policy or legal topics.

Responsibilities

• Advise and collaborate with multiple teams to communicate with media and journalists.
• Handle high-profile and urgent issues with calm, good judgment.
• Build relationships and strategic recommendations to drive Roblox’s goals.
• Develop global positions on key issues and reactive/proactive communications plans.
• Provide messaging to comment on industry regulatory issues and legislation affecting Roblox.
• Lead campaign strategies to educate policymakers and the Roblox community on key issues.
• Create and execute crisis communications and risk mitigation plans.
• Distill complex policy concepts into clear communications for press outreach.
• Brief spokespeople and staff interviews; highlight Roblox's trust, safety and civility efforts.
