Job summary

Northbound Executive Search is seeking a highly experienced Vice President, Payroll to lead the Firm’s payroll operations in the United States and contribute to global payroll initiatives. This senior role requires hands-on management of multi-state payroll, strong controls, and collaboration with HCM, Finance, Tax, Benefits, and external providers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience in multi-entity settings.
• Strong knowledge of US payroll taxes and multi-state regulations.
• Experience with Workday Payroll required or highly preferred.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee US payroll including semi-monthly, monthly, and off-cycle runs.
• Manage payroll across complex entities and equity transactions.
• Develop scalable payroll processes for growth and international expansion.
• Validate inputs, perform reconciliations, and ensure timely pay.
• Maintain payroll controls, audits, and compliance with regs.
• Collaborate with HCM, Finance, Tax, Benefits, and providers.
• Support global payroll initiatives and vendor partnerships.
