Representing a newly formed global organization, we are proud to be leading the search for a Director of Global Payroll. This newly created role will design, implement, and manage a best-in-class global payroll function, consolidating multiple country payrolls into a unified, compliant, and efficient solution.
This is a pivotal role offering the opportunity to build foundational systems, lead strategic initiatives, and shape the payroll experience for employees worldwide. As the Director of Global Payroll, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the design, implementation, and integration of a new global payroll solution across multiple countries
- Partnering with HR, Finance, and IT to ensure seamless integration with Workday HCM
- Establishing global payroll governance, policies, and standard operating procedures
- Building and managing a high-performing global payroll team
- Overseeing vendor selection, management, and performance
- Ensuring compliance with payroll, tax, and reporting requirements in all operating countries
- Maintaining robust internal controls in collaboration with Audit and Legal teams
- Supporting accurate payroll accounting, reporting, and funding processes
- Driving process standardization and scalability for growth and new market entry
- Providing payroll expertise for M&A, divestiture, and new entity stand‑up activities
To be successful in this role our client is looking for a:
- Professional with 10+ years of progressive payroll experience, including leadership of global, multi-country operations
- Proven success implementing new payroll platforms or transforming global payroll operations at scale
- Hands‑on experience with Workday HCM, Workday Payroll, CloudPay, and third‑party integrations
- Strong knowledge of international payroll compliance, taxation, and statutory reporting
- Ability to lead complex, cross‑functional projects and manage change effectively
- Skilled in vendor management and service delivery oversight
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical capability
- Preferred: Experience in carve‑outs, start‑ups, or new company stand‑ups
- Preferred: Professional certifications such as CPP, GPMI, or equivalent international designation
Base Pay Range
$180,000.00/yr - $225,000.00/yr
