Job summary

Motion is hiring a Payroll Manager (Compliance) to lead a large, multi-state payroll function. This on-site role in Birmingham, AL will oversee payroll processing, compliance, and a skilled team, ensuring accuracy and strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in payroll/finance, deep knowledge of Workday and ADP, and a proven ability to optimize processes in a shared services model. Excellent communication and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related business field.
• Eight+ years in Payroll, Accounting, Finance or related area; leadership experience preferred.
• Experience with Workday and ADP payroll platforms; SOX/compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll compliance for multi-state and multi-country operations.
• Lead and develop payroll team; ensure timely, accurate payroll processing.
• Manage relationships with payroll provider and outsourcers; ensure controls and reporting.
