Job summary

Jobtailor in Chicago is seeking an experienced payroll professional to manage domestic and international payroll using ADP platforms. You will prepare and audit payroll reports, record journal entries, and maintain accurate records across the general ledger.

The role requires 3–5 years in payroll with strong attention to detail and confidentiality. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance, coordinating with ADP providers and internal partners, and supporting audits and Form 5500 reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years of payroll and general accounting experience.
• Experience with payroll accounting including journal entries and reconciliations.
• International payroll experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines while managing priorities.
• Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Intermediate Excel and familiarity with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Process domestic and international payroll accurately using ADP systems.
• Prepare, review, and audit weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reports.
• Prepare payroll-related journal entries and reconcile accounts to the general ledger.
• Maintain payroll records and reconcile payroll registers to the GL.
• Ensure payroll documentation is complete and compliant.
• Administer payroll deductions, tax codes, garnishments, and Form 5500 reporting.
• Monitor timecard compliance and payroll deadlines.
• Coordinate with ADP, foreign providers, and internal partners to resolve issues.
• Support payroll audits and year-end reporting processes.
• Identify process improvements in controls and reporting.
