Nubank seeks a Senior Staff Software Engineer to own the architecture for its global remittance and cross-border payment platforms. You will work at the intersection of high-scale backend systems, FX engines, international rails, and regulatory platforms to enable instant, low-cost, multi-currency movement for millions of users.

Qualifications

• Proven track record designing and scaling backend distributed platforms.
• Hands-on experience with remittance or cross-border payments.
• Fluency in event-driven architectures and distributed transactions.
• Experience writing RFCs and architectural docs.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve multi-currency remittance architecture.
• Architect integrations with global payout partners and rails (e.g., SWIFT, FedNow).
• Build ledgering and FX management engines for high concurrency.
• Collaborate with AML/KYC and regulatory teams to embed compliant paths.
• Mentor engineers across payments squads on distributed systems and resilience.
