Job summary

Paddle is seeking a Compliance & Risk Lead to join our global compliance team. You’ll work with legal, product and operations to ensure Paddle stays compliant with payments and fintech rules as we scale.

Based in the UK with a worldwide remit, you will lead the team, design monitoring and reporting programs, drive enterprise risk management, and translate complex regulations into practical actions for regulators and leaders.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of compliance experience, ideally in payments.
• Experience implementing scalable monitoring and reporting systems.
• Deep expertise in data protection, card scheme rules, and payments regulation.
• Experience in fintech or SaaS environments.
• Experience in high-growth scale-ups with real-time monitoring.
• Excellent communication to translate data for engineers and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Lead and hire the compliance team to support Paddle’s global needs.
• Develop and refine policies to ensure adherence to card scheme rules and payments regulation.
• Design and oversee monitoring programs with data-driven tools to identify risks.
• Deliver compliance reporting to senior leadership, boards, product teams and regulators.
• Develop and manage enterprise risk management and embed controls.
• Coordinate regulatory research with legal and implement findings.
• Lead investigations into high-risk complaints and breaches with incident reporting.
