Job summary

Paddle is seeking a Compliance & Risk Lead to join the compliance team, reporting to our VP, Compliance. Based in the UK with global scope, you will build scalable monitoring and reporting, ensure Paddle remains compliant with global payments and fintech regulations as we scale rapidly.

You will lead the compliance team, collaborating with legal, product and operations to implement robust systems for tracking, analyzing and reporting on compliance and risk, staying ahead in a dynamic regulatory

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of compliance experience, ideally in payments and/or fast-growing businesses.
• Deep expertise in data protection, card scheme rules and payments regulation (e.g., PSD2, AML/KYC).
• Experience in fintech or SaaS environments with real-time monitoring and reporting capabilities.
• Exceptional communication skills with ability to translate compliance data for diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to build and scale compliance frameworks in high-growth settings.
• Attention to detail and a demonstrable track record of regulatory adherence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the compliance team and work with legal, product and operations to ensure global payments compliance.
• Design and oversee monitoring programs using data-driven tools to identify risks.
• Develop and deliver internal and external regulatory reporting with accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage the enterprise risk framework and embed controls across the business.
• Stay ahead of evolving payments, consumer and fintech regulations and translate findings into actions.
• Lead investigations into high-risk issues and produce incident reports as needed.
