Job summary

Merck is seeking an Associate Director, Packaging, to define and execute packaging strategies that meet global network needs. You will lead the design of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging systems, including blow-fill-seal technologies, ensuring robustness and regulatory compliance.

You will drive risk assessment, develop specifications, and oversee qualification activities while collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring new products to market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Packaging Engineering or related field with ten years of pharmaceutical development experience; or MS/PhD with 8 years.
• Understanding of pharmaceutical development process and ability to design, develop, and test packaging components.
• Familiarity with Risk Assessment tools and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute packaging strategies for global network needs.
• Lead packaging system design robustness and efficient processes.
• Conduct technical risk assessments and oversee qualification activities.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and sustainability goals.
• Collaborate across the CMC continuum to develop and commercialize products.
