Job summary

Magna Exteriors seeks a Category Lead, Packaging NA to develop and execute packaging strategies across North America and globally where applicable. You will lead sourcing for returnable and expendable packaging, pallets, dunnage, and related services, coordinating with Packaging Engineering, Operations and Logistics teams to optimize material flow and total cost.

The role requires a strong track record in packaging procurement, OEM packaging knowledge, and experience driving cost reductions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 6+ years of packaging procurement, packaging engineering, supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or related automotive operations.
• Experience sourcing and managing packaging commodities including returnable containers, expendable packaging, pallets, racks, dunnage, corrugate, and packaging services.
• Strong understanding of OEM packaging requirements, automotive supply chains, material flow, and logistics principles.
• Experience leading packaging optimization and transportation density improvement projects.
• Proven success negotiating commercial agreements and managing strategic supplier relationships.
• Experience with cost reduction initiatives, value engineering, and total landed cost analysis.
• Travel up to 25%, including international travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain global packaging category strategies aligned with Magna Exteriors' objectives.
• Oversee sourcing for returnable packaging, expendable packaging, pallets, racks, dunnage, totes, and packaging-related services.
• Develop bidder lists and execute RFIs and RFQs in alignment with engineering and OEM requirements.
• Negotiate and manage supplier pricing, contracts, and long-term partnerships.
• Monitor packaging market conditions and identify optimization opportunities with cross-functional teams.
• Lead cross-functional programs to improve quality, efficiency and total delivered cost.
