Job summary

Performance Health in Akron, OH, is seeking a Manager of Global Packaging to lead a diverse team and drive packaging design, regulatory compliance, and supplier management. This working manager role balances people leadership with hands-on project execution across global initiatives.

You will oversee 4+ reports, coordinate across packaging, product, and graphics engineering, and ensure quality, cost control, and regulatory standards (FDA/EU MDR).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science.
• 7+ years packaging engineering, development, or operations experience.
• 3+ years of leadership or people management experience.
• 7+ years of experience managing global suppliers and packaging sourcing.
• 3+ years of cross-functional project leadership in manufacturing, engineering, or supply chain.
• 5+ years developing packaging specifications, testing protocols, and documentation.
• Experience collaborating with Sourcing, Product Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and RA/QA.
• Ability to respond to customer, regulatory, or business-community inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Lead design projects from conception through delivery, managing priorities and timelines.
• Drive cross-functional teams to deliver packaging and product outcomes.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (FDA, ISO, MDR) and quality documentation.
• Develop and manage BOMs, DHFs, SOPs, and technical files.
• Oversee supplier sourcing, cost management, and supplier performance.
• Coach and mentor team members; foster accountability and continuous improvement.
• Identify process improvements to reduce costs and improve delivery.
