Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Packaging and Labeling Manager to lead end-to-end artwork development, changes, and implementation across global markets. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, Packaging, Regulatory Affairs, Business, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or related regulated industry.
• Experience supporting pharmaceutical artwork development, labeling operations, regulatory labeling, copy editing, technical writing, packaging operations, or related functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead artwork development activities, including brief creation and approval, artwork preparation, proofreading, review, and implementation.
• Manage artwork changes from initiation through implementation using formalized artwork management systems and change control processes.
• Coordinate with Regulatory Labeling, Supply Chain, MS&T, QA, and other stakeholders to ensure artwork meets business and regulatory requirements.
• Create and maintain Artwork Bills of Material (BOMs) to support commercial product disposition activities.
• Oversee daily interactions with external graphics agencies, printers, and packaging vendors to ensure timely and high-quality artwork development.
• Drive artwork implementation activities at manufacturing and packaging sites to support commercial supply continuity.
• Ensure proper version control and adherence to change management processes throughout the artwork lifecycle.
• Support new product launches and post-launch artwork updates across global markets.
• Review, develop, and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and training materials related to artwork processes.
• Deliver training and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on artwork processes and artwork management systems.
• Provide administrative support and system maintenance activities for Artwork Management Systems.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects while balancing timelines, priorities, and stakeholder expectations.
• Proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and elevate concerns that may impact project deliverables or implementation timelines.
• Foster strong cross-functional partnerships to support successful execution of packaging and labeling initiatives.
