Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated is seeking a Quality Operations Director to provide operational leadership for commercial resupply, lifecycle management, and packaging/labeling quality across a global CMO network.

The role partners with Vertex senior leaders to translate strategy into executable quality plans, build capable teams, and drive risk-based quality oversight to ensure compliant, reliable supply and ongoing process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific or allied health field is required.
• Requires 10+ years of relevant work experience and 4+ years of management experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of global GMP/GDP requirements and commercial packaging and labeling operations in a pharmaceutical environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational quality oversight for commercial resupply and lifecycle packaging and labeling across US and UK/EU CMOs.
• Translate strategy and priorities into operational quality plans, resources, and execution expectations for the packaging and labeling quality team.
• Proactively build team capability, provide direct leadership for managers/senior staff, and drive performance and succession planning.
• Lead cross-functional quality forums and ensure accountability, tracking, and alignment across stakeholders and CMOs.
