Job summary

Lee Kum Kee is seeking a Senior Packaging Development Manager to lead AMS zone’s direct food contact, secondary & tertiary packaging initiatives across the West and East Coast. You will drive innovation, lead a capable development team, and ensure strategic alignment with global packaging goals.

The role requires deep knowledge of packaging materials, testing methods, and regulatory considerations, with travel as projects require.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in packaging engineering, food engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, polymer/materials engineering, or related science field.
• A minimum of 10 years related packaging development experience and 7 years in a mid-senior managerial role with supervisory skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and teamwork.
• Lean Six Sigma training or equivalent preferred; CPP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage package development team for America zone markets and other applicable markets; align strategies with global packaging strategies and maximize application of new package technologies.
• Maintain liaison with global packaging community for initiatives and cross-zone projects.
• Coordinate with west coast and east coast plant teams to scale up new pack types and formats; relocate packages as needed.
• Drive package development processes per company guidelines; propose ideation and realization solutions and deliver quality that meets objectives.
• Provide technical expertise in designing packaging and specifications, including test methods and capability studies.
• Engage with agencies, vendors, and testing services to develop components meeting growth, sustainability, and reliability goals.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required; anticipate more travel before east coast facility becomes fully operative.
• Foster opportunities to develop team talents; assign projects based on skills and strategic intent.
