Job summary

Corning Incorporated is seeking a highly analytical Financial Analyst to support global OPEX management and the monthly close process. You will partner with business leaders to ensure disciplined cost control, accurate forecasting, and strong governance across functions.

Responsibilities include planning, budgeting, variance analysis, and capital spend oversight for operating unit 1066, with a focus on data-driven insights and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience collaborating across functions to solve complex business problems.
• Knowledge of financial and management accounting, including systems, compliance, and reporting.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to present to senior leadership.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy.
• Digital and data-driven approach to finance.
• Proficiency with MS Office, SAP, Khalix/Longview, Power BI, Power Query, and Databricks.

Responsibilities

• OPEX management: track, analyze and report global OPEX; deliver monthly variance analyses.
• Month-end close & accounting support: prepare entries, reconcile balances and ensure controls.
• Planning, budgeting and forecasting: support annual budgets and monthly forecasts; maintain financial models.
• Headcount and cost management: analyze labor trends and workforce planning.
• Capital spend oversight: track capex and analyze spend vs. plan for operating unit 1066.
• Business partnering: lead monthly OPEX reviews with cross-functional partners.
• Ad hoc analysis and special projects: respond to leadership requests; drive process improvements.
• Digital and AI enablement: leverage AI tools to improve reporting and efficiency.
