Job summary

Corning Incorporated is seeking a Senior Business Analyst (Finance) to support monthly close, reporting, budgeting and variance analysis within the Solar division. You will ensure GAAP compliance, lead close activities, monitor performance, and partner with business leaders to drive cost controls and process improvements.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, independent analysis, and contribution to long-range planning with opportunities to influence critical financial decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, accounting or business.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in financial reporting, budgeting or close processes.
• Experience with cross-functional teams and independent handling of analyses.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly financial consolidation and reporting.
• Support period-end close, voucher prep and posting.
• Ensure general ledger accuracy and integrity.
• Prepare timely financial reports for division management.
• Analyze actuals vs plan/forecast and explain variances.
• Monitor spending with department managers and control costs.
• Support budgeting and five-year plans.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance processes and tools.
• Coordinate close with partners and corporate finance.
• Assist audits and SOX documentation/testing.
• Provide financial insight on business issues and cross-functional problems.
