Job summary

Dimerco is seeking an Ocean Operations Supervisor in Rosedale, NY to lead daily ocean operations, ensure accurate import/export shipments, and coordinate with customers, carriers, and internal teams. The role emphasizes strong communication, cost awareness, and adherence to SOPs.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in Global Forwarding Operations with knowledge of ocean imports/exports, shipping docs, and carrier coordination, plus the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Global Forwarding Operations experience.
• Strong knowledge of ocean import/export operations, shipping documents, customs procedures, and carrier coordination.
• Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Daily Ocean Operations execution for import/export shipments.
• Follow SOPs and identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
• Manage operational costs including demurrage, detention, and other charges.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and quality control across daily operations.
• Supervise, coach, and train Ocean Operations staff.
• Coordinate with customers, carriers, vendors, overseas offices, and internal departments to ensure smooth shipment execution.
• Verify customer billing and vendor cost information for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Provide operational reports and support management initiatives.
