Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions in Raleigh, NC seeks an NPI Engineer – Laser Welding to lead laser-welding technology development, process readiness, and global deployment across CBS manufacturing sites.

You will drive DOE studies, define robust process windows, and work with Product Engineering on joint design reviews while enabling smooth production handoffs; travel 30–50% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Optical, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Engineering, or related field.
• 3 to 5 years hands-on industrial laser-welding or laser-process development experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of laser-material interaction, weld-joint design, optics, wavelength/power selection, beam delivery and joint preparation.

Responsibilities

• Define laser-welding technology roadmap; evaluate sources, beam delivery, process controls, fixtures, and automation.
