Job summary

Winston Taylor in California seeks a Network Engineer to design, maintain, and improve the firm’s global network infrastructure, ensuring secure, highly available connectivity across offices, data centers, cloud platforms, and remote access.

The role covers Azure compute, Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls, SD-WAN, VPN, VoIP, Teams, and network automation with Ansible, PowerShell, or Python. The position requires 3+ years in IT networking and travel 3-4 days weekly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with a CompTIA Network+ Certification or Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science discipline required.
• 3+ years of information technology network experience with LAN, WAN, and Internet protocol technologies.
• Ability to work outside of standard business hours, and travel to various firm locations as required.
• Must live within commutable distance to local office and come in 3-4 days per week.
• Ability to lift 50lbs.
• CCNA certification preferred.
• Azure Administrator certification preferred.
• Solid understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP models.
• Ability to troubleshoot network installation and maintenance issues.
• Experience with network automation concepts.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, VoIP, QoS, DHCP, IPsec and VPN tunnels, SD-WAN.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network-related hardware, software, and connectivity services across the firm's global environment.
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, patches, hot fixes, firmware updates, and security configurations.
• Monitor network performance, availability, capacity, and reliability, and proactively address issues that may affect service continuity.
• Improve efficiency, automation, resiliency, and security of network services across on-premises and Azure environments.
• Follow configuration, change management, and documentation standards to ensure changes are approved and supported.
• Partner with security team to implement and maintain network security tools, policies, and procedures.
