Equinix is seeking a Sr Principal Engineer to lead the architecture, automation, telemetry, and modernization of the GEN corporate enterprise network. This individual-contributor role blends deep network design with hands-on Python automation and AI-enhanced operations.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in corporate enterprise networking, architecture, or related field.
• Proven track record as a senior technical authority (principal/senior-principal), with global scope.
• Ownership of multiregion enterprise-network architecture and large-scale environments.

Responsibilities

• Define target-state architecture and multiyear GEN network strategy.
• Provide architectural direction across LAN/WAN, data center, cloud connectivity, and security.
• Establish global standards, reference architectures, and governance practices.
• Own critical network architecture decisions aligning with security and cloud standards.
• Write/review Python for automation, telemetry, and data processing; translate requirements into workflows.
• Establish network-as-code with Python/Ansible/Terraform and GitOps.
• Define truth sources for state, inventory, topology, and configuration; manage change controls.
